The Mission & Outreach Team helps oversee the various outreach ministries of our church. The Mission & Outreach Team’s purpose is, “Equipping and Empowering God’s people to provide financial and spiritual support for local, national, and global ministries.” The first Sunday of each month, the children of our church collect a “noisy offering.” That offering is then sent to one of the following “BIG 4 “ministries we support on a quarterly basis. Those four ministries are:
Bruce, who grew up in the St. John’s family, and his wife, Sandie, operate the Tanner Romania Mission, a home for children with developmental disabilities. They opened the Mission in 1991, creating a loving household environment for people who had previously been institutionalized because of their physical and mental limitations. In the Tanner Mission, they are cared for in group home settings, given physical therapy where needed, and learn skilled trades as well as contribute to the life of the Mission by helping in the gardens or doing chores, where able. We support the Tanner’s on-going work through our donations.
FISH is a volunteer organization that provides emergency assistance to residents of Tiffin and Seneca County. In addition to the quarterly “noisy offering,” we also regularly collect canned and boxed foods that we deliver to the food pantry.
Originally Crossroad was founded in 1883 as The Reformed Orphans’ home of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Today, Crossroad Children’s Home continues to help disadvantaged children by providing a full spectrum of services in residential, out-patient, home based, and community settings. This ministry, and the life-changing services they provide children, would not be possible without the support and prayers of churches throughout the country.
FACT is a local nonprofit, volunteer agency dedicated to assisting Seneca County of Ohio residents diagnosed with cancer. All donations remain local to help our neighbors with cancer related expenses. FACT was formed in 1990 and is an incorporated, state registered 501(c)(3) non profit agency. It was established to provide direct financial assistance to Seneca County residents who had been diagnosed with cancer. We found that such funds were not available from any other local cancer charities Anyone, regardless of age, sex, gender, race, creed or financial status is eligible to receive services, as long as they reside in Seneca County. Financial assistance is available for transportation, medication, chemotherapy, radiation treatments, and various rehabilitation supplies such as, prosthesis, home healthcare supplies, nutritional supplements, and more.
